Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat

July 22-26 {full day camp} 9:30am-4pm
This camp will be an exploration of all things food-related: where we get our food and what makes food taste good. Each day we will focus on one of the four basic factors that determine how food will taste: salt, fat, acid, and heat—with our final day combining all four of those factors into a delicious meal. The mornings will be spent learning about the day’s focus and exploring where our food comes from. The afternoons will be spent learning basic kitchen safety, knife skills, cleaning, tasting, experimenting, and trying recipes that highlight the day’s focus. Participants will need to acquire their own copy of Samin Nosrat’s “Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat: Mastering the Elements of Good Cooking.”
Facilitator Chrissy Wakeling
