PSCS transcripts

PSCS provides an official Washington State recognized Transcript along with robust course descriptions, individualized student comments, and advisor narrative reflections/evaluations that assess each student’s trajectory through a course, Seminar, or activity—as well as through the year and their time at school.

A PSCS transcript is a student's inventory of courses they have taken to fulfill WA State graduation requirements, as well as PSCS specific-requirements, to show growth in experience and skill levels, as well as to keep record of community engagement and coursework over a student’s time at PSCS. We work to ensure courses and activities are noted in a manner that can be best understood by families, as well as outside readers. When a student has completed coursework, attended most classes, been present and respectful, shown evidenced growth, they receive Credit (Cr) on their transcript.

If a student has NOT completed coursework or engaged to the satisfaction and discretion of the facilitator, has dropped a class after a term deadline, or has not met the attendance minimum for a class, they receive No Credit (NC) on their transcript. If a student drops a class within the term's add/drop time frame, misses a significant amount of school/work due to physical or mental health needs, or dies not finish the work assigned by the time records are sent out, they may receive Withdrawn (WD) or Incomplete (INC) on their transcript, with clarification in the narrative section of their official records.

PSCS Facilitators are responsible for documenting credit earned based on the following criteria:

1. Participation,

  • [%] Participation (facilitator discretion)

2. Respectful Engagement

  • [%] Respectful Engagement with the facilitator, classmates, guests, and materials.

3. Presence & Attendance

  • 70% (minimum) Attendance (as per the attendance kept by the facilitator) and Presence in class, ie: on time, alert, etc)*

4. Completed Coursework

  • [%] Completed required Coursework (expectations set and shared by the facilitator at the start of each term)

5. Evidenced Growth in Understanding

  • [%] Evidence of growth in understanding and practice of new skills over time—and with regard to the PSCS Core Commitments: Integrity, Community, and Courage

*Attendance can be, but does not have to be, a limiting factor. Facilitators have discretion when considering how lack of attendance for a course or seminar is prioritized: how a student communicates with them regarding absence, lateness, and make up work.
