Puget Sound Community School (PSCS) invites the participation of all people, welcoming students, teachers, families, and volunteers of any racial, national, religious, or ethnic origin, from all backgrounds, belief systems, orientations, and expressions. PSCS is actively working to analyze and account for power, positionality, intersectionality, and oppression. Lived experience will be considered/prioritized during the interview process.

The PSCS staff are intentionally less hierarchical. Our school is led by a collaborative Administrative Team—we do not have a principal or head of school—who supports the health of the organization, and works closely with teachers and volunteers to provide an educational environment built on community and connection. PSCS staff rely on transformative processes and commitment to social and environmental justice as a throughline to learning all subjects and embodying skills, rather than rote memorization or checking boxes. Our responsive model supports students' needs and desires, along with the experience, skills, and passions of educators.

volunteer opportunities

volunteer facilitator

PSCS relies on volunteer facilitators with particular interests, jobs, passions, and skills, to offer courses/activities that support our students goals—and/or help them to visualize fields they may not have ever even considered as professions, vocations, or creative pathways.

If you are interested in volunteering, please email our Director of Community Engagement to start a dialogue.

board of trustees

PSCS seeks community members interested in supporting progressive education and collaborative leadership, and prepared to ask questions and share skills that serve to further our non-profit goals and future sustainability.

If you are interested, there are positions available on the board for those who can only attend once monthly meetings (prepared to ask good questions and vote on agenda items), and roles for those with the ability to do more (mailings, other committees, officers, etc).

If you are interested in joining our board, please email our Director of Operations.
