Sam Williams–Teaching Staff

Education is the passport to the future,
for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today.

—Malcolm X

Teacher Sam (he/him) found his way to PSCS after several years as an Instructional Assistant at the Westside School in West Seattle. He’s been a resident of the Pacific Northwest since the mid 80s, but originates from the hot flatlands of Dallas, Texas.

Sam’s teaching experience goes back to the mid-nineties, where he got his start as a preschool teacher and an elementary school assistant. During those early years, he found a love for teaching, helping students see past their challenges and offering a positive approach to learning and having fun.

Sam brings a unique perspective and incorporates basic skills with thinking outside the box.His classes often connect students with cultures rarely given notice. His passion is sparked by the ability to equip young people with the power to be invested in their own education.

Outside of the classroom, Sam enjoys working with other youth groups, empowering them to seek change and to work outside their comfort zones. When he’s not in the classroom, you might find him writing in his journal, DJing, cooking, reading and spending time with his family.
