Mira Menon
Mira (they/them) came to PSCS in January of 2025 as an Administrative Intern from the University of Washington – Undergraduate Community Based Internship program (UCBI). They were brought on to focus on helping us better understand and build more intentional mutual aid opportunities at PSCS, but ended up doing so much more. They also worked to build on other Chinatown partnerships, create resource mechanism for families and the wider community, and even taught a Mutual Aid and ‘Zines class in Spring Term. Students and staff found Mira to be deeply engaged and their ‘zine was a lovely community benefit—you can download a PDF by clicking the pic below or pick up a hard copy at the front desk.
Although Mira accepted a summer internship working for Washington Federal Defender and will finish their senior year at UW, they will continue on part time with PSCS as well this coming year.
Why PSCS?
“I’ve learned how to listen intentionally – to students, colleagues, and to myself. I’ve learned that community engagement is not just about planning events, but about building trust and paying attention to what brings people together and excites them. I’ve learned that young people thrive when they are respected and given room to explore, and that my role is often less about directing and more about supporting. The administration at PSCS has truly modeled what collaborative and generous leadership looks like. Your trust has given me room to experiment, reflect, and evolve, and your feedback has always felt kind and constructive. I carry that with me in how I work with students.”
