Avery Rosnick

“There are no mistakes; just happy accidents.” -Bob Ross

Avery is a PSCS alum and a recent UW graduate with a B.A. in Community, Environment, & Planning. She currently resides in Portland but grew up and spent most of her life in Seattle, and considers the city her true home. She’s a raging creative, a recovering perfectionist, and desperately wants to live near the ocean someday. At UW, she studied Community, Environment, and Planning with a focus in Housing, Wealth, and Community Belonging- TLDR, she thinks community, love, and housing are basic human needs, and is ready to fight for them. She’s worked in education and childcare, been a college climbing instructor, dabbled breifly in construction management, and spent many years volunteering and working alongside Seattle’s houseless population. In her free time, she loves to be creative (she is a sewist, woodworker, slam poet, and much more…), take long walks, and spend time with friends and coworkers.

If Avery could choose one person to have a long meal with, alive or dead it would be Brené Brown. “I would likely be instantly floored by the challenging questions Brené had for me!”

Current reads: All About Love by bell hooks, On Connection by Kae Tempest, and Cloud Cuckoo Land by Anthony Doerr.
