Rugby: How to Play; Body Image & Acceptance (Session I)

July 15-19 {full day camp} 9am-4pm

This is for those students who’d like to learn the sport of rugby—and all that it entails. This will include basic rugby rules and strategy, as well as physical practice of ball handling and basic rugby functions. Participants will learn about rugby culture (songs, traditions, hosting a meal for the opposing team, etc) and watch some games on film. There will also be facilitated discussions about body image (we all have strengths for each position in rugby) and what it means to strive and be competitive without “othering” players.

Facilitator: Jenn Shaffer (Jenn is a PSCS Volunteer and Substitute Teacher—full bio coming soon)
Open to: Middle & High School students entering grades 9-12
