The PSCS Lunch Ladies!

This fall five students are taking Nic’s “Cafeteria” class, in which they prepare and serve a hot, vegetarian, balanced lunch every Wednesday to anyone interested.  This is extra-exciting this year because the school’s Wednesday schedule includes an extra-long midday break for “community lunch,” in which we hope to have as many students, staff, and community members as possible sit down together for a (comparatively) leisurely lunch gathering.  Food from the Cafeteria class anchors that scene!

The class members are making their menus a world tour, having started with Mexican and Egyptian meals the first two weeks. Future weeks will draw on the cuisines of France, Japan, Greece, Italy, West Africa, Thailand, USA, and Vietnam.

If you’re interested in coming, Nic takes sign-ups on Mondays so the class knows how many meals to prepare. The cost is $7 per week and as an added bonus you get to see Melinda & Earvin receive your money while wearing hairnets.

Good food, community, and hairnets. That’s Wednesday at PSCS. Let us know by Monday if you plan to attend.
